“Game of Thrones” Season 6 was a heavily guarded secret. Many questions needed answering, such as whether Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) is actually dead. The highly anticipated first episode entitled “The Red Woman” of Season 6 was to air on April 24. However, it was leaked early by a streaming website.

The Telegraph reports that “The Red Woman” was mistakenly made available online for a few hours as reported by some internet fan forums, Twitter, Reddit, and IMDB threads. “While some websites are claiming that HBO themselves were responsible for the leak, initial posts appear to blame a Canadian streaming website,” reads The Telegraph article. It is very unlikely that HBO would leak its own show online early and risk losing TRPs. The leaks have since been taken down, the report mentions.

The HBO chiefs and producers of “Game of Thrones” are expecting ratings to shoot through the roof and they will most likely do. But the leaks put a dampener, even if only slightly. There would be those who are unable to resist temptation and give in. Some of those have posted spoilers online. Some would avoid the show if the leaks suggest something they did not wish to see.

Some of the purported spoilers, as reported by The Telegraph, are given below:

  • There is more violence and sexual content, such as “a child is pushed out of a window, a dwarf cavorts with prostitutes and snarling zombies give chase through a haunting snowscape.”
  • Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) is plotting to take over Westeros with her trained dragons. However, at the moment, she seems to be a prisoner of the barbarian race of Dothraki.
  • The Stark family is mostly dead, with only Ned Stark’s (Sean Bean) daughters Sansa (Sophie Turner) and Arya (Maisie Williams), his sons Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) and Rickon (Art Parkinson) living. However, Arya Stark has gone blind. Bran Stark became crippled when Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) pushed him off a tower after he discovered him being intimate with his twin sister Cersei (Lena Headey). Meanwhile, Sansa Stark leapt from the top of another tower with Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen). Bran has met a mysterious wizard, the Three-Eyed Raven, in the far north.
  • Vulture also reports that Melisandre (Carice Van Houten) has magical powers and she is actually a witch who is hundreds of years old. She has been changing her appearances from time to time. She can also create illusions, and fans are hoping that she might be able to resurrect Jon Snow. After all, he has been the only proper hero in the series.
