‘Fushigi Yugi’ Musical: Cast Costumes Revealed in New Photos!

The official website of the next two-part stage musical adaptation of Yuu Watase’s famous “Fushigi Yugi” anime manga series in the 1990s, has made an update. It has posted photos of the star-cast of “Fushigi Yugi ~Ake no Shō~” (“Fushigi Yugi” ~Vermilion Chapter~) in their character costume on Monday.

The photos feature actors like 26-year-old Reina Tanaka. She was an ex-member of  “Morning Musume” as the 15-year-old leading role Miaka Yuuki. Now Reina is the leader of popular four-member girls’ band called ‘LoVendoЯ.”

According to Crunchy Roll, the first part titled “Shu no Shou” will be carried out 15 times at Owlspot in Tokyo from April 8 to 17, 2016.

Thirty-nine-year-old Koutaro Yoshitani  is the writer and director of the stage musical. Koutaro is well-known for his stage play adaptation works based on famous anime/manga/game franchise, such as “Saiyuki” (2005), “Banana Fish” (2005), “Peacemaker Kurogane” (2007), “They Were Eleven” (2008), “Basara” (2012), “Robotics;Notes” (2013), and the most recent “Hetalia -Singin’ in the World,” reports Crunchy Roll.

Considering the photos posted on Anime News Network , it won’t be wrong to say that everyone is looking really beautiful in their costumes.

The star cast includes Reina Tanaka as Miaka Yuuki,  Shiori Sakata as Yui Hongou, Ryo Hirano (seen in “The Prince of Tennis Musical”) as Tamahome and JURI ( again from “The Prince of Tennis”) as Nakago. Also included are Takahisa Maeyama ( from “Persona 4 stage play” ) as Hotohori, Mao Miyagi (previously seen in three Amipro-produced plays) as Nuriko, Yoshikazu Kotani (from “Kamen Rider Agito”) as Tasuki, Eiji Takikawa ( from “The Prince of Tennis Musical”) as Mitsukake, Tatsumaru Tachibana as Chichiri, Tsubasa Hattori (from “Live Spectacle Naruto”) as Amiboshi, Daiki Tomita (previously  seen in the three amipro-produced plays) as Chiriko, Mina Kuryu as Shouka and lastly Zendou Ware as Amiboshi.

Advance ticket booking worth 8,000 yen have been available on Ampiro Ticket Service. Relevant sources reveal tickets for April 9, 16 and 17 are already sold out.
