“Frozen” fans can sit back and relax now because “Frozen 2” is really happening. Actress Kristen Bell has revealed that the script is almost complete, but a few tweaks are needed and recording is expected to begin this month.
Actress Kristen Bell was asked about the status of “Frozen 2” during an interview when she was talking about her upcoming movie, “The Boss.” Bell, who voices younger sister Anna, also disclosed that the “Frozen” team did not want to have the next part just for the sake of it. According to Metro, the team wanted a great story and an equally good final product. As a result, they took a bit more time to even announce the second part.
“The story is great, and they exude quality. What I know about that whole team is that they wouldn’t just put something out to put it out. That’s why it took them so long to even announce that we were doing a second one,” she revealed in an interview with Collider. “Generally, when you have a first successful movie you want to make a second one. It took them a while because they wanted to figure out what story they needed to tell and what would be important and engaging and I think they found it,” she added.
Disney had announced the second part to 2013’s “Frozen” two years after the successful movie released. Collider informs that last year, John Lasseter, the chief creative officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, had mentioned that the team had enjoyed making “Frozen Fever.” As a result, Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck had come up with an idea for a sequel that they were excited about.
This was followed by a round of speculations about the movie. Some reports suggested that the production was cancelled and instead the first part was going to be transformed into a Broadway musical. Then there was some news that indicated towards a TV series in the works.
However, Bell’s recent interview just blows away the rumours. With the script in place, the stars will now start recording, informs SlashFilm. “They’ve just written it and they’re still doing tweaks, but I think we should be recording this month,” she said.
