Cannes is the middle of all the action right now. Top actors and directors have arrived there for the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. However, those present have to go through increased security measures on the back of the Paris terror attacks that took place just six months back.
The Festival de Cannes is popularly known as the Cannes Film Festival. The day opened to damp skies and tight security. However, things turned glamourous as stars walked the red carpet to celebrate films and filmmaking.
The 69th Cannes Film Festival opened with Woody Allen’s “Café Society.” Allen attended the festival with his wife and stepdaughter Soon Yi. He was joined by his cast which included Kristen Stewart, Jesse Eisenberg, and Blake Lively. This is Allen’s 12th Cannes appearance.

Blake Lively looked beautiful in a cutout dress which showed off her baby bump. She paired her Atelier Versace gown with diamond rings and finished off her look with a pair of Louboutins. Her hair was left free to fall over her shoulders, states News.com.au.
Susan Sarandon, Victoria Beckham, Eva Longoria, Bella Hadid, Jessica Chastain, Kirsten Dunst, Julianne Moore, Vanessa Pardis, Naomi Watts, are just some of the celebrities who graced the red carpet.
The only thing different this year is the level of security. According to Euro News, city Mayor David Lisnard enlisted the help of an Israeli counter-terrorism expert for this particular reason. “Cannes must be protected not because of the cocktail parties, but because it is a professional event of a high level which brings honour to France,” said Linsard.
Hence, daily safety procedures include a detailed checklist this year. Bomb experts are sweeping the area every single day, bag inspections take place at the Palais Des Festivals and more than 400 private security agents guard the Palais. Hundreds of policemen and special agents patrol the streets to keep everyone safe during the festival.
