Production on Fast and Furious 8 is underway. The latest rumors on the action-packed series dropped quite a big bombshell, speculating that Paul Walker’s return is possible. How? Read the full story here.
Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner has been a pillar of the movie. But his unfortunate death in 2013 left a huge void that almost certainly no actor can ever fill.
However, there is buzz that he will be making a cameo appearance in Fast and Furious 8. How is it possible?
Let’s rewind a bit. Remember when Brian was seen with his family during the final scenes of Furious 7? We saw the full Fast crew sitting on the beach, watching Brian playing with Mia and their son Jack by the surf. If Paul Walker died in the middle of the filming, how did he appear in the climax scene? Well, that’s a mere a trick of digital technology.
At the time of his death, the filming of Fast and Furious’s seventh film Furious 7 was incomplete. In order to shoot the climax sequences, his two brothers Caleb and Cody Walker stepped in as a double. Paul’s appearance was pulled off with CGI (computer-generated imaging). That’s why in the finished product, there are a few awkward cutaway scenes that don’t show Walker’s face.

Now actor Vin Diesel is planning to bring back Brain O’Conner to Fast and Furious 8 by applying the same technology. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Paul’s brothers, Caleb and Cody revealed Diesel’s plan for O’Conner’s character.
Caleb said, “I had a phone call with Vin for about an hour and we really discussed this a while back. He wanted our blessing.” Caleb further added that Diesel asked if and when they thought it “would be acceptable to maybe bring Paul’s character back, to really kind of let his fans know he’s still out there.”
From the statement of Walker brothers, it can very well be expected that Paul’s return to the plot of Fast and Furious 8 is already on the cards. Now there is a million dollar question: will the film be able to do justice to Paul Walker’s character?
Whether or not Fast and Furious 8 will succeed to carry out Paul Walker’s character, is yet to be seen. The movie will hit theaters on April 12, 2017. For more updates, stay tuned!
