The “Fast and Furious 8” updates continue to spread like wildfire online. The highly anticipated eighth installment is set to premiere next year, and fans are definitely excited to know what director F. Gary Gray has up his sleeves.
New reports are claiming that the upcoming car-chasing flick has already made history when it filmed several scenes in an “untouched” location. The movie takes pride in being the first Hollywood movie to have filmed in Cuba. The South American country has been very strict with giving permits to filmmakers to shoot in their land, so it was a definite feat for execs of “Fast and Furious 8.”
Cuban publication Yusnaby Post has already released some set photos and a video showing a flaming car chase along the streets of Havana. Actors Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez were reportedly seen in the leaked behind-the-scenes video.
Rumours also teased that instead of using sports cars, the cast and crew used Cuban vintage cars in the action scenes.
Meanwhile, other “Fast and Furious 8” updates have already hinted that the new movie will be different from the previous installments. “Gray is reportedly so determined to make the film unique since he is filming action scenes in places where one else has gone to,” Parent Herald reported.
The regular cast comprised of Vin Diesel (Dom), Dwayne Johnson (Hobbs), Michelle Rodriguez (Letty ‘Ortiz’ Toretto), Tyrese Gibson (Roman Pearce) and Ludacris (Tej Parker) are returning. On the other hand, newcomers Kurt Russell (Mr. Nobody) and Jason Statham (Deckard Shaw) from “Furious 7” will also reprise their roles. The new additions to the cast lists Scott Eastwood and “Mad Max: Fury Road” star Charlize Theron.
“Fast and Furious 8” is slated to hit the big screens on April 14, 2017. The upcoming movie will be the first in the new “Fast and Furious” trilogy.
