Peterborough United will play West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup fourth round on Wednesday, Feb. 10, at the ABAX stadium, starting 7:30 PM GMT.
Both teams will be looking to make ground in the fifth round of the FA Cup as they clash on Wednesday. The last time Peterborough made it through to the fifth round was way back in 1986. As per the BBC reports, they have managed to net 15-times in their FA Cup home matches.
Things aren’t looking so great for West Brom. They put the lowest Premier League stats on the board with just 76 shots on target and 39.8 percent possession, notes the source. The last time West Brom were knocked out of the FA Cup campaign was back in 2011 when Reading thumped west Brom 1-0 in the third round.
According to the Independent reports, the two teams clashed only thrice in eight years with West Brom getting the better of Peterborough all three times.
The upcoming encounter is a big game for West Brom’s Saido Berahino. The ongoing season is not so good for the striker to back him up when the transfer issues begin to crop up. He has netted only four times this season with manager Tony Pulis calling him “distracted.” The 22-year-old has a point to prove in this match.
West Brom head coach Tony Pulis on Saido Berahino was quoted saying, ”He’ll definitely play at Peterborough, then we’ll see how he is.”
“He’s missed a lot of games, obviously. He’s missed half the season. We’re desperate to get him back involved again and playing games – being part of the team and he needs that game time.”
According to reports, Peterborough duo Michael Smith and Ricardo Santos have been banned. While Jack Baldwin will be missing out because of a back injury.
