Talk show host/comedian Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi have been in the center of divorce rumors once again.
The International Business Times reported the couple has been allegedly visiting a couple’s therapist to save their marriage.
“It was a very unhealthy situation, but they have begun the healing process. They are finally dealing with their issues,” said a source quoted by the news site.
The insider, however, noted, “They fight a lot during the sessions.”
“Portia often complains that she feels bullied. With Ellen’s show on hiatus for the summer, she is home bossing Portia around all day and expecting her to be at her beck and call,” the source added.
DeGeneres and de Rossi tied the knot in 2008. Since 2013, there have been several reports that their marriage was in trouble, the International Business Times noted.
The multi-awarded TV host has dismissed the rumors several times.
In an interview with Today Show in March 2015, DeGeneres told host Matt Lauer, “There doesn’t even need to be a thick skin, ’cause it’s not real. I’m just more flabbergasted by the fact that someone needs to make up a story. There’s never been a point where we were breaking up or divorcing or fighting. None of these stories are even remotely true.”
DeGeneres also told People in March 2014, “The truth is, and this is corny, I fall more in love with Portia all the time. I really do. She surprises me all the time,” the International Business Times wrote.
“It’s what anyone experiences when you find that person that gets you, wants to take care of you, wants the best for you. We’re really lucky because we know how rare it is,” DeGeneres added.
Earlier last month, Dirty Celeb Laundry reported that the couple has been planning to renew their wedding vows on national television.
RadarOnline has also reported recently that Portia has been pressuring Ellen to retire in the hopes to save their marriage.
A source told RadarOnline, Portia “asked Ellen to not renew her contract so that she can be a better wife to her. She told her that she needs to focus on her family.”
