X-Men: Apocalypse star Ben Hardy seems to have changed his mind about completely making the shift to Hollywood. Hardy, who popularly left British TV series EastEnders to pursue a career in Tinseltown, expressed his desire to return to the show once promotions for the upcoming Marvel film wraps up.
“I would be down for that but it’s difficult as it’s trying to get away from that perception of me as Peter Beale,” Hardy explains, Metro quotes. The 25-year-old actor adds that his attachment to his storyline, particularly his onscreen romance with Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) and their baby, makes him want to go back even for just one episode.
Hardy played the role of Peter Beale on EastEnders for two years before leaving the show in February last year. In his final appearance, Peter and Lauren moved to New Zealand as they were expecting their first child.
Maybe EastEnders showrunners can create the perfect comeback scene for Peter Beale, especially since Lauren is returning to the show next year.
Two days after his last shooting for EastEnders he flew to Los Angeles to audition for the role of Angel in X-Men: Apocalypse.
“It’s been great, the whole experience was surreal to me to go from EastEnders to X-Men was like a dream,” Hardy says.
Meanwhile, Ben Hardy also shared his thoughts about being a sex symbol when he was still in EastEnders.
“I don’t think about it. I try and not be topless anymore, because i don’t want that to be my thing,” he tells Mirror.
Hardy as Peter Beale was popular among fans for his good looks and charming acting.
Ben Hardy stars in X-Men: Apocalypse in which he assumes the role of the young Angel, a character previously played by Ben Foster in X-Men: The Last Stand. The premieres in cinemas on May 19.
