It seems Toronto Raptors ambassador and rapper Drake was on cloud nine after their first ever win against Cleveland Cavaliers.
Game 3 ended in a 99-84 victory for the Toronto Raptors, even with the home court advantage belonging to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
With the Game 3 win, Toronto Raptors finally managed to salvage some of the team’s pride by breaking Cleveland Cavaliers’ winning streak.
Drake watching the game live, though from a farther seat than his usual courtside seat, immediately took to Instagram to celebrate the win, Cleveland reports. He posted an old picture of LeBron James where the Cavalier’s top scorer sported a look of disbelief. He then captioned it with “Flying home for game 4.”
Though Cavalier fans were quick to defend their team and diss Drake himself on his troll Instagram post.
Drake has been Toronto Raptors ambassador since 2013. He has admitted he has been a Raptors fan since he was a kid.
With the Toronto Raptors finally gaining home court advantage, there’s no knowing what will happen. The upset win by Toronto Raptors is definitely a blow to LeBron James, after he shot a total of 24 points for the team.
LeBron James is yet to comment on Drake’s trolling though ESPN reports the two are close friends.
Whether it’s a playful swipe or a mighty shade Drake has thrown at LeBron James, Game 4’s results will decide whether the two teams will still meet. If Cleveland Cavaliers gets back their winning stance, Drake and the Toronto Raptors at least have that Instragram troll post to remind them of their Game 3 win.
Whether Drake’s celebratory post will get a second installment or not, fans of both teams will have to wait until the two teams meet again on Tuesday at around 10:00AM NSW.
The two teams are vying for the Eastern Conference championships. The victor will be facing either Golden State Warriors or Oklahoma City Thunder for the 2016 NBA Playoffs Championship.
