Donald Trump believes America should start racial profiling. He thinks it can be used as a preventive measure for terrorist attacks.

Trump’s comments come on the context of Orlando shooting. According to him, racial profiling is “not the worst thing to do.”

The GOP frontrunner, who is known for his controversial take on Muslims, has earlier endorsed imposing a ban on Muslims entering the country. He talked about it again after 49 people had been shot dead by a lone wolf attack at a gay nightclub. The Orlando mass-shooting was the deadliest in US history.

Trump now wants to profile Muslims, as he apparently takes inspiration from countries like Israel.

“Well I think profiling is something that we’re going to have to start thinking about as a country,” Donald Trump told CBS News. “And I hate the concept of profiling but we have to start using common sense and we have to use our heads.”

The real estate mogul gives the example of San Bernardino, where 14 people were killed. He apparently blamed the Muslim community for it.

“When you look at, when you look at people within the Muslim community and where people are living and they don’t report, and a good example of that would be San Bernardino,” Donald Trump said.

He said people did not report against them even though they had been seen with bombs in their apartment.

Meanwhile, anti-Trump campaigners now have plans to raise money for a possible legal defense fund. The organization called Free the Delegates wants to change GOP rules to stop Trump from being eligible for running for president against his Democratic rival.

According to co-founder Regina Thomson, this is “not entertainment.” “As we carefully consider not only the presidential nominee but the rules of the convention, the platform of the Republican Party and the vice presidential nominee, remember that this is true reality TV – it is not entertainment,” the Washington Post quotes her as saying about Donald Trump.
