Marvel Studio’s forthcoming superhero movie “Doctor Strange” is highly anticipated for a number of reasons. It has “Sherlock” star Benedict Cumberbatch in the titular role. The movie also includes a stellar supporting cast. Plus, “Doctor Strange” is a movie about sorcery and the mystic arts so the first teaser trailer of the movie is very important. Fans will not have to wait till the release of “Captain America: Civil War,” as Cumberbatch will appear on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on April 12 and reveal the trailer.
Aaron Couch, who is the writer/editor for People’s TV Team, revealed the coming week’s schedule for “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Twitter, reports IGN. Actor Clark Gregg of Marvel’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” will also be present on the show on April 12 with Cumberbatch.
That is not all. The entire “Team Captain America” will be on Kimmel’s show on April 11 and actors Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, and Anthony Mackie will appear. Then, on April 13, it will be the turn for “Team Iron Man.” Robert Downey Jr., Don Cheadle, Emily Van Camp, Chadwick Boseman, and Paul Bettany will be appearing on the talk show. The Marvel week at “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” will conclude on April 14, with an appearance from “Thor” star, Chris Hemsworth.
Earlier, a few promotional images from “Doctor Strange “ were released. Also, many set photos and videos leaked on the internet showing star Benedict Cumberbatch in costume as the Sorcerer Supreme, filming undisclosed scenes for the Scott Derrickson-helmed movie. However, a trailer will offer the very first official peek into the fantasy feature.
“Doctor Strange” tells the story of neurosurgeon Dr. Stephen Stephen Vincent Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), a brilliant but egotistical doctor who, following a car accident that damages his hands, has been disabled and is unable to perform his duties as a doctor. Strange begins a desperate search for ways to restore the use of his hands and eventually locates a hermit in the Himalayas called the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton), who takes him in as an apprentice and trains him in the mystical arts to defend the world from evil.
Cumberbatch recently surprised many fans of Doctor Strange by appearing in character as the titular sorcerer in a New York comic book store. He will also return as Sherlock Holmes in BBC’s “Sherlock” season 4.
The movie also stars Rachel McAdams (“Spotlight”), Chiwetel Ejiofor (“12 Years a Slave”), and Mads Mikkelsen (“Hannibal”). The screenplay for “Doctor Strange” is written by Jon Spaihts, Joshua Oppenheimer, Thomas Dean Donnelly, and C. Robert Cargill.
