‘Doctor Strange’, ‘Agents of SHIELD’ & ‘Agent Carter’ Epic Crossover Revealed; Features Darkforce

Agent Carter

“Agent Carter” fans are in for a real treat as Season 2 will be charging ahead and exploring further ties from within the Marvel universe.

“Agent Carter’s” Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters sat down with Comic Book Resources to reveal more details and share how the Darkforce ties “Agent Carter” and the “Doctor Strange” film together, as well as its connection to “Agents of SHIELD.”

Fans may be aware that Season 2 of “Agent Carter” will witness the arrival of the Darkforce. Peggy Carter will come across the mystery of a glowing dead body and her investigation will lead her to Isodyne Energy, a company where scientists have come across some dark energy which is really the Darkforce. But since they are unaware about it, they are calling it Zero Matter.

Fazekas shared, “You’ll learn more about that in Season 2, but they stumble upon what people in the Marvel Universe will know as Darkforce, but because they’ve never seen it before they just name it Zero Matter. That’s our tie-in to the ‘Doctor Strange’ universe, and also to ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’ because you’ve seen it in ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’ as well.”

Fans may also recollect that the Darkforce was featured in “Agents of SHIELD” Episode 19 of Season 1, as noted by ScreenRant. In this case the energy was deployed by the villain, Marcus Daniels against Coulson and his group.

Darkforce as the name suggests is just that, a negative energy which takes away all the light from our dimension — heat as well as life force of those who come in contact with the energy. In the Marvel universe, the Darkforce comes from another dimension which is in absolute darkness.

Fazekas revealed, “The cool thing about what we learned as we researched Darkforce over the course of Marvel comic book history is that it affects people in different ways. It’s created a bunch of superheroes, it’s created a bunch of villains, and it has all these different properties. It could be a liquid, it could be a gas, it could be a solid, it could give you powers, it could kill you.”

With only a week ahead before the Season 2 premieres, the connection between “Doctor Strange” & “Agent Carter”, how ever small, is bound to get fans excited.  This will give them a little more insight into what the new season will be bringing in for them.
