A new Collector’s Edition of “Divergent” series has been released recently and it revealed some details that could have been included in the movie adaptation of the series.
Veronica Roth’s “Divergent: Allegiant” Collector’s Edition has been released last October 6 and features 48 pages of bonus content, including deleted scenes and excerpts from the journal of Natalie Prior.
Roth revealed to Entertainment Weekly that she had an entire section in “Allegiant” where Tris, Tobias, and the others reunite with the other Dauntless as a sign of quiet rebellion, as well as a moment between Tris and Peter. However, Roth said she had to cut the parts because it slowed down the plot.
“I cut the Dauntless section because it slowed down the plot when I needed it to speed up, and with it went Tris and Peter,” said Roth.
Part of the Collector’s Edition description on epicread.com stated, “Tris’s new reality is even more alarming than the one she left behind. Old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless. Explosive new truths change the hearts of those she loves. And once again, Tris must battle to comprehend the complexities of human nature—and of herself—while facing impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice, and love.”
It has been confirmed that there will be some changes in the final films of “Divergent” franchise.
However, Venture Capital Post noted that it remains unclear whether Tris’ fate in the end will be different from the book series, in which she made a sacrifice for humanity.
Shailene Woodley and Theo James will reprise their role in “Divergent: Allegiant”as Tris and Four respectively. The cast also include Naomi Watts, Octavia Spencer, Zoe Kravitz, Ansel Elgort, and Maggie Q. Jeff Daniels will join the cast as the latest antagonist David.
The first part “Allegiant” is scheduled to hit theaters on March 18, 2016 while the second part “Ascendant” will be released on March 24, 2017.
