Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo’s intense chemistry in “Descendants of the Sun” fired up a storm of dating rumours that up to now still haven’t subsided. Weeks after the KBS drama series aired its final episode, the Song Song couple is said to reunite at the upcoming 2016 Baeksang Awards.

Both Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo are two of the 2016 Baeksang Awards’ most highly-anticipated attendees. According to Beatus Corner, the event will be held at the Hall of Peace of Kyung Hee University on June 3.

Song Joong Ki is vying for the Best Actor award for his role as Captain Yoo Shi Jin in “Descendants of the Sun.” He is up against Nam Goong Min, Jo Jin Woong, Joo Won, and Yoo Ah In. On the other hand, Song Hye Kyo is also nominated for Best Actress for her role as Dr. Kang Mo Yeon in the same drama. She is being pitted against Kim Hyun Joon, Kim Hye Soo, Ra Mi Ran, and Hwang Jung Eum.

“Descendants of the Sun” is also nominated for Best Drama, Best Production Director, and Best Scriptwriter.

Song Joong Ki’s agency, Blossom Entertainment, confirms that the actor is joining the prestigious event which is dubbed the equivalent of the Golden Globe Awards in South Korea. His onscreen lady love, however, has yet to announce her appearance.

Meanwhile, the actor’s health has been a cause of concern for fans lately after he was seen donning a mask and looking haggard while going to Wuhan, China for a schedule fan event. It seems that Son Joong Ki is unstoppable at the moment and his rise as one of South Korea’s top actors has only just begun.

The 30-year-old actor Tells Vogue Korea how passionate he is about acting.

“I can’t tell you how much I wanted to act then. I still feel that way now,” Song says, according to Soompi. “I’m not tired, and I don’t even want to take a break. I’ve rested from acting enough when I was in the military.”
