Fans of the Korean drama series “Descendants of the Sun” can now relive each moment they fell in love with Yoo Shi-jin, Kang Mo-yeon, Yoo Myung-ju, and Seo Dae-young on DVD.

KBS network will release a Director’s Cut of the megahit K-drama in DVD and Blu-Ray later this year, Yibada reported. It offers various rewards for its fans such as behind the scenes footages that show the making of the program, along with music videos and never before seen photos of the actors. The announcement was posted on Song Joong KiTH fan page, the publication wrote.

Plans to mount a second season of the phenomenal series didn’t push through as producers cited the showbiz commitments of its stars as the major stumbling block, GameNGuide recalled. Yet the show’s latest victory at the 52nd Baeksang Awards might encourage them to reconsider their decision, the publication noted. “Descendants of the Sun” earned five nominations and won five awards, Soompi reported.

The release of the Director’s Cut DVD would likely satisfy DotS fans as they await confirmation about the second season. Indeed, anticipation is high as rumors tease that it would include “deleted kissing scenes” of the show’s stars, Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo, Parent Herald wrote. The publication also hinted that it might feature a close up of the stars’ kiss at the clock tower in Greece which zoomed out in the particular episode’s telecast.

Reps for both Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo dispelled rumors about a possible relationship between the two stars. However, given the show’s popularity and their amazing onscreen chemistry, fans can’t help but wish the two were actually dating. Their popularity will only get bigger as the series is set to premiere in Japan, Yibada wrote in a separate post.
