“Deadpool” star Morena Baccarin is expecting a baby with her co-star Ben McKenzie from “Gotham” and this is not going well with the messy divorce she is going through with husband Austin Chick.
In an already difficult negotiation struggle where Morena Baccarin and Chick are fighting for the custody of their son, the pregnancy is yet another thorn in the growing array of complications between the two. The actress is now trying to delay her deposition date with husband, due to the high risk pregnancy.
People got access to the actress’ court papers and she says she doesn’t want to be stressed or handle negotiations when she is eight months pregnant.
Her statement below was quoted by People.
“I am now almost eight months pregnant, and I continue to have a high risk pregnancy. My physician … has advised me to have as much bed rest as possible and limited activities. She further advised that sitting (as to answering questions) for deposition, regardless of the length of time, is unduly and unnecessarily stressful to me at this time. Such stress will affect my personal well-being and potentially cause harm to the health of my unborn child.”
According to CBS News, Baccarin’s attorney has stated that she would participate in all the legal matters needed for her divorce 30 days after giving birth.
The two have been fighting over the custody of their son, Julian, ever since they have been separated over the summer. Baccarin had earlier suggested the court to order Chick to come and live in Los Angeles from New York to share custody with their 2 year old son because of her pregnancy.
A judge had given her custody in September, but a November ruling said that the “Deadpool” star has to pay $23,000 a month in spousal and child support.
