‘Daredevil’ Season 2 Trailer Shows Religious Imageries & Metaphors [Spoilers]


The brand new “Daredevil” Season 2 trailer is out now! And one cannot just ignore the ominous undertone and religious imageries therein.

The trailer has a voiceover from various characters, while we see the protagonist—Matt Murdock face his own past devils. The first season of “Marvel’s Daredevil” showed Matt Murdock fighting in order to bring justice to Hell’s Kitchen. However, Season 2 will prove his fight has only just begun, states the official synopsis released by

The trailer also gives information about the Season premiere, which is earlier than speculated. The show opens on March 18th, as opposed to the rumoured March 25th date on Netflix. The latter being the same date that “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” hits the screen.

Season 2 will see Matt needing to learn from his past when he faces the vigilante Frank Castle. Also, the mysterious Elektra Natchios  will return from his past to present an all-new challenges for our hero.

According to Cinemablend, Season 2 will see new forces rising in Hell’s Kitchen just when Matt thinks he is bringing order back to the city. He will also have to take on a new adversary in Frank Castle and face an old flame – Elektra Natchios.

Frank Castle will pose greater challenges when he is reborn as The Punisher. He will take justice into his own hands in Matt’s neighborhood and will show no mercy to his adversaries. Matt will have to tread the fine line between his duty to his community as a lawyer and his dangerous life as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen. He will be facing a life-altering choice that will force him to truly understand what it means to be a hero.

The show will span across 13 one-hour episodes and will star Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil) is joined by a stellar cast including Jon Bernthal (Frank Castle), Elodie Yung (Elektra), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple), and Scott Glenn (Stick).
