Curry 2 Release Date, Price & Photos: Steph Curry Wears Shoes at Team USA Mini Camp

Sneaker collectors and NBA fans rejoice because the first look at Steph Curry’s newest basketball kicks have been released.

The Under Armour Curry 2 is creating major buzz in the sneaker world lately. While the reigning NBA MVP’s newest signature shoes have yet to be officially revealed to the public, celebrity and sports photographer Cassy Athena was able to snap exclusive photos of the sneakers at the Team USA mini camp in Las Vegas.

The Golden State Warriors point guard wore his pair of Curry 2 during the camp — the first time the pair was seen on court and in use.

“The sneaker world looks forward to seeing all of the player exclusive shoes that the guys wear. This year did not disappoint, with the first look at the Curry Two,” Athena wrote on her blog together with photos of the UA basketball shoes in a Team USA color theme of white-blue-red.

The Curry 2 doesn’t look too different from its predecessor, the Curry 1. However, Sneaker News noted that the new version has a “unique ventilated upper and larger external heel counter providing additional lockdown support.”

Another colorway of the signature shoe was also revealed by Sneaker News in another report. The pair is expected to be an “Away” sneaker for the MVP this coming season.

“Featuring a black-based upper with yellow, grey, and neon lime accents for a bold look we might expect to see worn by Steph for road games this upcoming season,” the site noted.

The Curry 2 is not expected to be released soon as new colorways for the Curry 1 are still being released. The pair is also expected to have a higher price than the current pair’s $120 tag.

Aside from the Curry 2, the photographer was also able to snap images of other custom-made versions of other NBA stars’ signature sneakers, including John Wall, Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony.

Curry is part of the 34-player roster that have joined the first ever camp of the US National Basketball team who will vying for the final 12-man roster for 2016 Rio Olympics.
