Criminal Minds Season 12 kicked off recently and the viewers might notice Penelope’s attitude towards the new guy, Luke Alvez. The first episode highlighted Shemar Moore’s departure, just in case you were not able to watch the kickoff.

Actress Kirsten Vangness revealed the truth behind the reason why she hates the newcomer. She said that the show removed a scene from the previous season.

“Last year they had written a scene that they cut out, where Garcia, Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler ) and J.J. (A.J. Cook) were standing outside of Morgan’s old office, and Garcia says, ‘Whoever takes his place, I am going to hate them,” she told Parade.

“They are like, ‘You don’t hate anybody,’ and she said, ‘You’re right, I don’t, but that person, I’m going to hate.’ Even when they cut a scene out, it informs you,” the actress added.

Now that makes sense, aside from the fact that Penelope was disappointed when Derek Morgan left. He was one of the reasons why she gets up to work every morning, right?

“There’s nothing to replace him. He’s irreplaceable. It’s the sadness that comes from, ‘I thought we were always going to be like this.’ Then people get married and they have kids, and all of a sudden, the stuff that was so valuable is not there and it’s hard,” she added.

That sounds pretty sad, though. On the other hand, Cinema Blend also learned that she does not plan to give any information about the new guy.

However, the situation might turn around since Luke would ask Penelope for help, according to the website. The outlet believes that it would be hard for Luke and Penelope to be comfortable to each other.
