Chile and Panama are squaring off in Philadelphia Tuesday night with the goal of advancing to the quarterfinals of the Copa America 2016.

The two teams are vying to get the remaining spot in Group D as Argentina already secured its place to the next round of the tournament.

Copa America prediction and odds give defending champions Chile the edge to go through since it only needs a draw to advance.

Both Chile and Panama have four points after their respective previous matches but since Chile has a superior goal differential, a draw will put them to the knockout rounds joining Argentina.

However Panama certainly has a different idea and they can draw inspiration from the result of Brazil vs Peru match the other day, which saw the mighty Brazil knocked out by Peru.

Struggling Chileans

The Chilean team is struggling however to defend the Copa America title it won last year. This was evident in their 2-1 loss to Argentina and their hard fought 2-1 victory against Bolivia.

The high tempo and ferocious intensity that helped Chile become a formidable team and propelled them to unprecedented heights are lacking in this tournament so far, MLS Soccer reports.

Chile’s star players  Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal have unexpectedly not become the powerful presences as many predicted.

These perceived weaknesses are surely in the mind of the Panamanian team and present potential risks for Chile, which could end up in the same predicament as Brazil.

Panama’s Chances

On paper, Panama is not in a very good spot either.  The 5-0 thumping on their opening Group D match against Argentina and the brilliant skills of Lionel Messi is a massive blow. Even a 2-1 victory later on against Bolivia could not shake that off.

The loss to Argentina means that in the event of a draw with Chile, Panama will need 10 or more goals to be on first place, assuming Argentina loses by one to Bolivia, which despite the  Brazil upset, is highly unlikely, according to the Latin Post analysis.

For Panama to advance, it must win against Chile.

Final Prediction

Chile will get second place in Group D and advance to the Copa America 2016 quarterfinals together with Argentina.
