Horror enthusiasts and movie buffs who enjoyed “The Conjuring” will have something to look forward to.
Collider reports that James Wan, the man behind the success of the first film, is crafting “The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist” and the new adventure will take audiences to 1970s London.
Much is not known about the upcoming film since an official synopsis has not been released yet. However, Collider points out that based on the title, the movie will be about claims of ghostly activity in Enfield, England that led to the demonic possession of two girls.
Since the film will not be out until mid-2016, director Wan was kind enough to share a few glimpses of the film’s set.
In one of his Twitter posts, a close-up picture of a lamp is shown. Based on the director’s caption, the shot will try to depict a snowy Christmas in London back in the 1970s.
Other photos shared by Wan include the crew shooting on a London street and another with the director and the film’s main cast.
JoBlo reports that Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will reprise their roles as couple Ed and Lorraine Warren who are paranormal investigators.
The website further reports that Simon Delaney, Lauren Esposito, Benjamin Haigh, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Patrick McAuley, Simon McBurney, Frances O’Connor, Franka Potente, Abhi Sinha, and Madison Wolfe will be joining Wilson and Farmiga in the sequel.
Meanwhile, Bloody Disgusting offers a more in-depth description of what the Warrens will be up to in the second film.
According to the website, the couple will travel to North London to help a single mother of four whose house is plagued by demonic spirits.
Bloody Disgusting also states that the James Wan will not only be directing the film but he is also responsible for the screenplay, working together with Carey Hayes, Chad Hayes and David Leslie Johnson.
“The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist” is scheduled to hit theaters on June 10, 2016.
