Guns N Roses fans are in for a real treat as the official Coachella 2016 lineup confirms that they will indeed be performing at the Music and Arts Festival to be held in Indio, California.
The word about the reuniting band performing on the festival first began to do the rounds on Billboard where the report cited confirmation from “multiple sources.” It was also revealed that the legendary band is “negotiating with promoters to play as many as 25 football stadiums in North America in the summer of 2016..”
As noted by CNN, the festival to be held on April 15-17 and April 22-24 2016, will feature headliners Guns N’ Roses, LCD Soundsystem and Calvin Harris. The performer list at Coachella 2016 also includes Ellie Goulding, Jack Ü, Ice Cube, Sufjan Stevens, Courtney Barnett, CHVRCHES, A$AP Rocky, Flume, Sia, Major Lazer and Lord Huron among others.
According to the report on Billboard, there were two hints out there that led to idea of the iconic band performing at the festival. The first being a mysterious update on the Guns N’ Roses website and the second being the footage of crowded concerts with Guns N’ Roses music in the background shown at the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” screenings.
This won’t be the first time at Coachella that the fest will be hosting such an epic reunion. The festival has been known to be bringing out groups out of retirement to perform for their loyal fans. The stage has witnessed Rage Against The Machine play in 2007 and more recently, Outkast in 2014 among other epic bands that have chosen to grace the fest with their performances.
