The Cleveland Cavaliers play the Atlanta Hawks in the Game 2 of their NBA Play-Offs fixture on Wednesday, May 4, at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, starting 8 pm ET.
The Cleveland Cavaliers opened up the 2016 Eastern Conference Semifinals with a 104-93 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Monday night. With the win, the Cavaliers now hold a perfect 9-0 all-time post-season record against the Hawks, notes the official media notes.
Cleveland has a 13-1 all-time series record when leading a round of 1-0 and has never lost when going up 2-0 in a series (9-0). The Cavs have held their opponents to under 100 points in four straight contests, including Monday’s Game 1 win after holding Atlanta to 93 points on 33-87 (.379) shooting from the field.
The Cavs are averaging an NBA-low 8.4 turnovers per contest this postseason. In Game 1, Cleveland committed only one turnover in the first half, which was their lowest in a half of a playoff game since May 20, 2009, against Orlando (also one turnover in the first half).
As per the official NBA reports, Cavaliers coach Tyronn Lue celebrated his “39th birthday” on Tuesday. While showing off his grey hair Lue joked, “I dyed mine grey.”
“My Barack Obama look.”
Lue also commented on James. According to the reports, “He thought James deserved more whistles than were heard.”
“When he attacks the basket, he’s so strong and athletic and he goes with so much force that a lot of times, guys are bouncing off of him, but still, those are fouls,” said Lue. “We just got to continue to play through it and got to continue to keep attacking and, hopefully, we’ll get those calls.”
