The public was shocked by the news about Chris Brown assaulting Rihanna in 2009. Seven years after the incident, Brown admitted that he almost killed himself after the abusive act.
The singer released the trailer of his life documentary titled “Welcome to my Life.” He confessed that the incident turned his life upside-down that he tried to end his life.
“I went from being on top of the world, number one songs, being kind of like America’s sweetheart, to being public enemy number one,” the rapper admits, quotes The Sun. “I felt like a f***ing monster. I was thinking about suicide and everything else. I wasn’t sleeping, I wasn’t eating. I just was getting high.”
On the other hand, Brown’s mother, Joyce Hawkins, also said in one of the documentary interviews that those were the worse times of their lives. “I felt like I was going to lose my child,” she said.
The assault happened after the former couple attended a pre-Grammy party in Los Angeles. The fight began inside’s Brown’s vehicle when Riri confronted her then-beaus about a text message from one of his exes.
Suddenly, the unfortunate incident happened when Brown quickly punched Riri on the face, aside from biting and choking her. The leaked photos became available online which became one of the most shocking revelation in the music industry.
Surprisingly, the couple rekindled in 2012, as Rihanna told Vanity Fair that she thought she could change him. “I was very protective of him,” via The Sun. More than the insights of the people involved, “Welcome to my Life” also features artists who helped Chris Brown such as Usher, Jennifer Lopez, Rita Ora and Jamie Foxx.
