Jose Mourinho and his representatives are already making contingency plans to make a possible move to French football giants Paris Saint-Germain or return to Internazionale.
Chelsea’s fifth defeat against West Ham United on Saturday in the Premier league season has raised enough speculations about Mourinho’s future with the club as the Chelsea bosses are looking to dismiss the Portuguese coach.
Ever since his introduction to Chelsea, he has been entangled with a lot of controversies surrounding his on-field antics and his apparent feud with his own medical staff as well as the referees.
ESPN sources suggest, “Mourinho’s primary choice would be PSG, as all other top English and Spanish clubs are seen as off-limits, and the French champions are one of the few other sides with the money to match the elite and potentially win the Champions League.”
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has not put out any ultimatum to Jose Mourinho as he still believes that he can turn things around for the team. Though both parties are preparing for the worst case scenario, there has been no official word from the Chelsea bosses.
If Mourinho moves to France, sources state that it would give him the opportunity to win league titles in five different countries only second to Tomislav Ivic. Mourinho had made similar noise when he made Real Madrid to come to Chelsea.
What has fueled more speculations on Mourinho’s future is the fact that Pep Guardiola has been constantly linked to Chelsea and Abramovich is likely to go to any length to rope in the legendary coach. While Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is optimistic about signing Guardiola whose contract expires by the end of this season, the Catalan remains tight lipped about his future in the Premier League.
When asked about his possible link up with Chelsea, Guardiola exclaimed, “Please, it’s October,” he said. “I have to continue winning games, because that’s what the fans want. I don’t talk about the contract every week.”
