Celebrity Big Brother 2016 said goodbye to Lewis Bloor and James Whale last Friday. However, the news of their eviction reportedly came out hours earlier. Hence, it supposedly benefitted punters who used the information to their advantage.
Producers of the popularity reality show are adamant about the confidentiality of the voting results. Yet it would appear a leak possibly occurred at 10 a.m. The official announcement revealing the fifth and sixth evictees of the Celebrity Big Brother 2016 edition came at 10:30 p.m. The names of James Whale and Lewis Bloor stood out among the five housemates up for eviction. The pair left the house after saying their goodbyes to the remaining housemates.
However, sources close to DJ James Whale claimed they knew the outcome 12 hours earlier. They made the revelation to Daily Star prior to the evening’s telecast. Thus, the publication surmised it is likely that a thorough investigation will follow the allegations.
As it turns out, Lewis was an early favorite for eviction. However, James was not. The other housemate many expected to go home was William Hill. His odds were at 2/5 while James had an 11/4 chance of saying goodbye.
The alleged leak could have given punters an advantage. Thus, they could have placed their last-minute bets in favor of the reported outcome. A practice meant to trick bookies. However, a spokesperson denied the leak occurred. Moreover, they offered reassurance of the voting information’s security.
“Our voting information is tightly guarded, known only by a very small number of people. The final result is never known, nor disclosed until after voting closes,” a Celebrity Big Brother 2016 spokesperson stated.
The popular reality TV franchise is no stranger to controversies. Marco Pierre White Jr. and Laura Carter earned the ire of viewers on Big Brother 2016 with their on air sex act. Earlier this year, Jonathan Cheban’s departure from CBB also stirred up a storm since he only stayed for a week in the house.
