Harry and Norman Osborn are some of the Marvel villains that fans would like to see in the upcoming “Captain America: Civil War.”
It has already been confirmed that Spider-Man will be part of the Marvel movie, however, there are no official word yet if the father and son tandem will be joining “Civil War” as Spidey’s enemies.
Norman Osborn, a.k.a. The Green Goblin, is one of the most notable villains of Spider-Man.
In the 2002 “Spider-Man” movie, Osborn was played by William Dafoe and in “Amazing Spider-Man 2” in 2014, the character was portrayed by Chris Cooper.
There have been rumors that Matthew McConaughey has been eyed to play Norman Osborn in the “Spider-Man” reboot. However, there have been no official confirmation on this yet.
McConaughey has expressed his desire to join the Marvel or DC universe if he will be offered the right script and role, the International Business Times reported.
Peter Parker’s best friend Harry Osborn, on the other hand, was played by Dane DeHaan and James Franco in both movies.
Movie Pilot top choice to play Harry is American actor Timothee Chalamet.
According to Christian Today, should Norman Osborn join “Civil War”, he may not be prominently featured in the movie but his company might; or it is possible that Osborn appears but the Green Goblin does not. His appearance may only set the stage for the “Spider-Man” reboot, which will feature Tom Holland as the new Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
Screenrant noted Green Goblin doesn’t need to be part of the “Civil War” for now, but his known hatred of Spider-Man can still follow through in the succeeding stories.
Norman Osborn played a crucial part in the war between Iron Man and Captain America, Christian Today noted. In the comics, he leads the team of supervillains called the Thunderbolts.
“Captain America: Civil War” is scheduled for release on May 6, 2016, while the next “Spider-Man” movie is slated on July 28, 2017.
