Did an actor really confirm his character’s death in the upcoming “Captain America: Civil War” movie?
In an interview with NY Daily News, actor Don Cheadle discussed his character James ”Rhodey” Rhodes. Did he really let slip what happens to Rhodes? “It does look bad for Rhodey,” Cheadle told Daily News. But the actor would not confirm if this Team Iron Man member is really dead.
Cheadle, however, told the news site how much he appreciates that fans are worried about his character’s fate. “I’m on Twitter, so I’ve gotten a few people going, ‘Rhodey better not be dead, son. I’m going to be so mad.’ Or ‘I’m done with this thing if Rhodey’s dead’…But that’s cool, I like that people get so upset about it,” he told Daily News. “I like that in a Marvel movie people are able to evoke such emotion,” he added.
It was earlier reported that people were speculating about Rhodes’ death because the movie’s new trailer has shown his seemingly lifeless body being held by Iron Man. In the trailer, Rhodes as War Machine is seen shot and falling from the sky. When Iron Man reaches him, Rhodes has blood dripping from his nose.
“I never know where the character’s going to go, but…what happens to Rhodey [in this upcoming movie] is a little bit more intense and pivotal,” Cheadle previously told Super Hero Hype.
Rhodes is not the only character whose death was implied in the new trailer. It was previously speculated that a Captain America ally, Winter Soldier, might also die.
So, is Rhodes really going to die in the upcoming Marvel movie? Or is there a chance for him to be revived? Fans will have to wait for the movie’s release to find out. “Captain America: Civil War” is set to hit the big screen on May 6.
