In “Captain America: Civil War,” Scarlet Witch picks up from where she left viewers in “The Age of Ultron.” The Scarlet Witch and Clint Barton equation will be stronger, but what is fascinating is that there will also be a strange bond between her and the Vision. Will it be a romantic one?
Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch, isn’t spilling the beans. In a recent interview with Screen Rant, the actress spoke of a unique connection with the character. She explained that the source of the power for Vision and Scarlet Witch is the same, resulting in a bond. She did not reveal beyond that.
“Yeah, I mean, I think there’s something unique in the fact that her powers come from the same thing that powers him (Vision) and that is how we’ve made them have that kind of … that specifically in common, as opposed to it being something else that the comics kind of created, which has been pure romance,” she told Screen Rant. “But they do have something uniquely special because of that,” she added.
Cinema Blend explains that in the comic books, Scarlet Witch and Vision do end up getting married in the end. The witch is also seen using her powers to impregnate herself. However, it is still not clear if this storyline would be pursued in “Captain America: Civil War.”
According to Morning News USA, it is not just the Scarlet Witch and the Vision who will have a “connection” in the movie. The publication reveals that Captain America and Agent Carter too will get their romantic socks on. They will be seen getting intimate and sappy towards each other.
However, Cinema Blend informs that Paul Bettany had already teased an impending romance way back during “Avengers: Age of Ultron” press tours. He revealed that Vision was always protective of Wanda. “Avengers: Age of Ultron” also saw the Scarlet Witch and Vision exchange some “looks” between themselves. If that is anything to go by, then that surely will spark the beginning of a strong relationship.
