Will Natasha Romanoff finally star in her own movie? Should fans start expecting a Black Widow solo film to drop soon?
According to Collider, Marvel has yet to confirm this “Avengers” spin-off. However, the Russo brothers say it wouldn’t really take a lot to convince producers to make a Black Widow solo film. It’s only a matter of scheduling. “I don’t think [it will take] much [to make her film]. I think it’s just a function of where on the slate it goes…She’s a bad-ass,” Joe Russo said. His brother and frequent co-director, Anthony, agreed. “It’s a no-brainer, right?” he said.
Will the Russo brothers really take on a movie focused on Black Widow? No word as of yet to confirm this. Stay tuned for updates. The Russos do have a lot on their plate right now, though. Their latest film, “Captain America: Civil War” was just released. But they already have a two-part “Avengers” follow-up scheduled. Will they ever have time for Black Widow?
“It’s so hard to say because we’re working through 2019,” Joe explained. “So it’s very difficult to say what our headspace will be like then…whether we’ll still be invigorated to keep working on larger stories, or whether we’ll want to do some smaller stories, what the business is going to be…There are so many opportunities out there, it’s tough to say. [This is] probably something we could answer in 2019.”
Meanwhile, according to The Mary Sue, Black Widow seems to be the Avenger that most fans want to see with her own movie. Ticketing site Fandango’s survey revealed that 48% of the surveyed fans favoured her. Black Widow was up against several other Avengers, including Vision, who ended up as the runner-up. He got 15% of the votes. Both of them beat out Hawkeye, Falcon, War Machine, and Scarlet Witch.
