With the latest in-game micro-transactions released for the popular title “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3,” avid gamers can now directly pay real cash to buy item drops. Yes, ardent gamers read that right, that’s the power that the recent roll out gives them.
As shared by Digital Trends, this move comes after Bungie’s “Destiny” upgrade which gives players the ability to purchase characters right off the bat. The “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” micro-transactions were rolled out along with additions to the equipment list in the in-game Black Market. These equipments include melee weapons, character outfits and taunts amongst others.
As was the case before the current update, avid gamers were randomly awarded these Black Market paraphernalia, which they could get hold of after paying Cryptokeys, which they earned during the gameplay.
With the recent update, however, players can now directly pay up through Call of Duty Points to buy Rare Supply Drops. Call of Duty Points is virtual currency available for PC, Play Station 4 and Xbox One players. While players receive 200 Call of Duty Points to begin with as a gift, any additional points after have be bought by paying real money.
The points can be purchased in bundles, of which the price ranges from $2 to $40. So, players can directly purchase the Supply Drops rather than having to wait for Cryptokeys to be gathered though gameplay. It remains to be seen whether this addition is appreciated by gamers.
This first person shooter game was last creating headlines because of the server issues that had surfaced, as had been noted by Express. The game ran into glitches since it launched on November 6, 2015 and the updates and other solutions were soon looked into to go around the errors avid gamers seemed to be facing.
