The ever popular “Call of Duty” franchise is expected to be taking things a lot further with the next installment. It appears that fans could probably be seen indulging in space combat! And yes, you read that right!
The franchise loyalists may already have an inkling of where it would head with the setting as well as the weapons increasingly becoming futuristic in nature, game after game. Given that the last three games in the franchise including “Call of Duty: Ghosts”, “Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare”, and the “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3” have been making significant attempts and setting the foundation of arriving in the future, as noted by ScreenRant.
Year after year the popular game’s details often leak and make their way to the anticipating fandom waiting to hear about what’s in store for them. This time around, Eurogamer has spilled the details on the setting of the 2016 game edition. As shared by the site, “The next Call of Duty will feature a radical departure for the series – it’s set in space.”
The article reveals that players would have the opportunity to indulge in space combat somewhere way, way into the future. Fans may recollect that by Infinity Ward’s “Call of Duty: Ghosts” also showed off the space setting in the opening. And many gamers may probably be happy to learn that “Call of Duty” 2016 won’t be a follow-up to “Ghosts,” which received a lukewarm response. Chances are, players will be rooting for Activision bringing out a title set in space, rather than the “Ghost 2” as is being rumoured.
There has been no word on when “Call of Duty” 2016 is expected to be rolled-out but it is widely accepted that the title will be released for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in the first week of November. More concrete details should surface as we inch closer to the launch.
