Burger King’s American customers will soon start seeing red. The fast food chain has come up with “the Angriest Whopper” — a “fiery” new burger for its U.S. stores will be introduced. What should you know about this newest Whopper variant?
According to Time, Burger King’s stores in the States will now be offering a Whopper with red bun starting this week. Quoting a news release from the chain, Time said this new Whopper is packed with the same ingredients as a regular Whooper. This burger comes with the usual flame-grilled beef, thick-cut bacon, American cheese, iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, crispy onion petals, and creamy mayonnaise. What makes it special then? Its “fiery” red bun, which “has hot sauce baked in.” As if that wasn’t enough, the burger also comes pack with jalapeños and a “spicy angry sauce.”
The new Whopper will be available in the States for a limited time only. You can buy it in the U.S. for $5.49 (AU$7.19). You can also try “the Angriest Whopper” combo meal for $7.49 (AU$9.82). When will “the Angriest Whopper” be available in Australia and the rest of the world? Stay tuned for updates.
This is not the first time the chain launched a burger with special sauce baked into their buns. According to NJ, this latest Whopper comes just months after Burger King launched its Halloween Whopper last year. Their Halloween Whopper comes in a black bun with A.1 sauce baked into it. “The black bun of our A.1. Halloween Whopper created a lot of conversation,” BK’s Chief Marketing Officer Axel Schwan was quoted as saying. “And our previous limited time Angry Whopper sandwich was a hit with guests.”
The chain behind the world-famous Whopper has been around for almost 63 years. Burger King is, reportedly, one of the largest hamburger chains in the world, second only to McDonald’s.
