An epic collaboration between hitmakers Skrillex and Bruno Mars promises to shake up the music scene with songs that are unlike anything anyone’s heard before.

News of their alliance came straight from Sonny Moore, who is best known as Skrillex. Billboard caught up with the famed DJ/producer via a telephone conversation. Incidentally, Skrillex was on his way to the studio along with singer Bruno Mars, the publication revealed. The biggest revelation from the 45-minute call was his alliance with Bruno Mars on a music production. Skrillex didn’t give details of their collaboration at the time. However, he did tease at what music fans can likely expect.

“I’m actually working with Bruno Mars right now. I’m not going to give specifics of what it sounds like, but what we’re doing is so f–king different, awesome and next level and sounds like nothing else that’s happened before,” Skrillex shared to the publication. The DJ/producer is no stranger to collaborations that have led to some of his best works to date.

“Every time I get in the studio with somebody else and collaborate, that’s when I always have revelations and learn about stuff. And I just love stepping outside of what I know and there’s no other music position that can do that,” he added.

The publication cited his recent achievements that catapulted him to hitmaker status. Skrillex won two Grammys for his work with Diplo on the “Jack Ü” album and the Justin Bieber single “Where Are U Now” from the “Purpose” album that he also co-produced.

Likewise, Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk” with Mark Ronson received due recognition and also won Record of the Year at the Grammy’s, YourEDM wrote. His second appearance at the 2016 Super Bowl Halftime Show is another notable feat by the singer. Sources recently revealed Mars’ new album would drop before the year ends.
