A shirtless Matt Damon photo on the set location of the upcoming “Bourne” film graces social media to the delight of his fans.
Damon is back to reprise his character as the iconic CIA assassin Jason Bourne for the fifth installment of the movie franchise.
Producer Frank Marshall shared on Twitter a photo of Damon on set that also featured his chiseled physique.
The 44-year-old actor expressed to Entertainment Tonight his excitement about returning to the Bourne franchise.
“I’m really excited for it. The thing to be most excited about is our director, Paul Greengrass is back — that’s what I’m most excited about — hopefully we can make one that’s on par with the other ones we did,” Damon said.
The actor was absent from the previous film, “The Bourne Legacy” that starred Jeremy Renner, Inquistr noted.
Greengrass directed both “The Bourne Supremacy” in 2004 and “The Bourne Ultimatum” in 2007.
In an interview with BuzzFeed, Damon hinted that the upcoming Bourne sequel has a lot to do with government spying.
“Without giving too much of it away, it’s Bourne through an austerity-riddled Europe and in a post-Snowden world. It seems like enough has changed, you know? There are all these kinds of arguments about spying and civil liberties and the nature of democracy,” he said.
According to Daily Mail, Vincent Cassel has been cast as the main villain in the upcoming film.
Tommy Lee Jones and Alicia Vikander are also joining the cast but their roles remain under wraps. Julia Stiles will also reprise her role as Nicky Parsons.
The “Bourne 5” movie has no official title as of yet. Daily Mail noted that if the fifth film follows the Robert Ludlum book series, it will be titled “The Bourne Betrayal.”
The fifth Bourne movie is scheduled to hit theaters on July 29, 2016.
Damon also starred in the movie “The Martian,” which is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on Friday and in theaters on October 2.
