Actor Daniel Craig will not do a cameo in “Star Wars 7.” The actor has dismissed the reports and it seems he is not thrilled with the rumor.
The buzz that Craig star will appear in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” started after actor Simon Pegg made a remark that the James Bond actor would play a Storm Trooper in the upcoming installment of the sci-fi blockbuster franchise.
ET Canada reported that on the red carpet for his new film “Man Up”, Pegg was asked to confirm a rumor that he will be playing an Imperial Storm Trooper.
“I wasn’t a Storm Trooper. Daniel Craig, he was a Storm Trooper.” He added, “I shouldn’t have said that.”
Craig denied Pegg’s remark and told Entertainment Weekly, “Why would I ever bother doing something like that?”
“F—ing hell! Pffft. Play an extra in another movie?” he said, clearly annoyed. “Talk to Simon Pegg. He obviously knows way more than I do.”
The British actor isn’t taking the rumor lightly and even hints a brooding fight between “Star Wars” director JJ Abrams and Pegg.
“[Pegg] is just jealous because he’s not in ‘Star Wars’. He’s got some issue with J.J. Abrams. I don’t know what the f— it is. You need to talk to Simon about it.”
Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Pegg is in the next “Star Wars” movie based on the footages shown at the recent Comic Con in San Diego.
Craig’s cameo role in “Star Wars Episode VII” had been rumored since last year, Yahoo Movies reported.
An insider close to the actor told the site that “Daniel asked for some sort of secret cameo role – and was happy to have his name left off the posters. Fans will love trying to work out which covered up character is him.”
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will hit theaters on December 18, 2015, while the next James Bond 2015 movie, “Spectre” aka “Bond 24” will release on November 6.
