While the official premiere date for Bloodline season 3 is yet to be announced, the latest update about the show’s future is pretty disappointing. There is a recent buzz that Bloodline season 4 is canceled and the third season of this Netflix original has been chopped down from 13 to 10 episodes.

Lately, Netflix vice president of original content, Cindy Holland stated that Rayburns and all their family drama will come to an end with Bloodline season 3. The channel is not going to pick the show for a season 4 renewal.

In Holand’s word:

“Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman, and Glenn Kessler are thoughtful and visionary storytellers, who lead a prestigious cast, that includes Kyle Chandler and Ben Mendelsohn, who have both garnered two Emmy nominations for their roles on the series. Together, with our collaborative partners at Sony Pictures Television, they created a seductive show that Netflix viewers worldwide love and continue to discover. We are looking forward to the exciting climax KZK have in store for the series conclusion in May 2017.”

Although Kyle Chandler’s Emmy-nominated drama has received heaps of praises during the first season from the fans, critics and the like, Bloodline season 3 will be the show’s final season. There are speculations going that despite a good story-line, Bloodline season 2 failed to pull a significant amount of viewership ratings. This might have prompted Sony ( the series’ production company) to wrap it up with season 3.

In fact, Bloodline season 3 is also being cut shorter and now it will have only 10 episodes instead of 13. The real reason for Bloodline season 4 cancellation is not yet known. Even it’s uncertain whether Sony will shop the drama around following its finale on Netflix.

The production work for Bloodline’s first two seasons took place in Florida.  These two seasons were covered under the state’s entertainment tax incentives. However, the great state of Florida chose to discontinue its tax incentives program in March of this year; a program that allowed for significant financial break for Bloodline. As a result, the series is now a more expensive proposition for the channel to continue, reports THR.

The gripping thriller-drama episodes are still resonating in the upcoming episodes of Bloodline season 3.  The fans have all been waiting to see what will happen next. In such scenario, how wise will it be to cancel Bloodline season 4?  Share your views below in the comment boxes.
