Blake Shelton opens up his feelings about his divorce with ex-wife Miranda Lambert, and how Gwen Stefani saved his life. Does this imply that the No Doubt singer was just a rebound?
“This time last year, there was no light at the end of the tunnel for me, personally,” he told People. ‘There was a point there where I thought I didn’t even want to exist anymore.”
The country crooner was married to Lambert for about four years when they separated in July last year. Unexpectedly, he became friends with Stefani, who was a temporary judge on the previous season of “The Voice.”
On the other hand, the blonde rock star was also having difficult times, ending her 13-year marriage to ex-husband Gavin Rossdale. Their friendship had turned out into something deeper until they announced their romance in public in November 2015.
Blake Shelton also told Country Countdown USA that he was not sure about the best time to announce his love for her current girlfriend. He also said that he never expected Gwen to be on his back during the hard times.
“There was no hiding it. If I glance her way, it’s the cover of magazines. If I could have kept my personal life private, I would have. Since I can’t, I might as well let people in on the truth,” the “Sangria” singer said, quotes US Weekly.
“Of all the people, she was the last person I expected to step out of the crowd and be the one to have my back, and be there and be the shoulder and be the one to fight that fight with me, getting back on my feet, and out of nowhere, there she was,” he added.
Their romance must not be a rebound, but amidst the healthy relationship is the rumour that they are secretly married are now building a family. Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are yet to address the hearsays.
