“The Voice” stars and real-life lovers Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani sing together for the first time the song titled “Go Ahead and Break My heart” on the show’s May 9 episode. But the song is allegedly dedicated to their exes.
The song is included on Shelton’s upcoming album “If I’m Honest,” which will be out on May 20, notes Reality TV World. Stefani helped her boyfriend in co-writing the single.
“This is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written or recorded,” the country crooner stated. “It came from a time and place when Gwen and I were beginning our journey together and both experiencing a hard time letting our guards down with each other.”
“The song couldn’t possibly be more honest. I’m honored to have written and to perform this song with the great Gwen Stefani. Respect,” Shelton continued. He also said that working with hs girlfriend is quite remarkable.
Meanwhile, the pair has not confirmed the rumour about the song being dedicated to their exes.
The couple met during “The Voice” Season 9, where Stefani temporarily replaced Christina Aguilera on the judge’s seat. She and Shelton developed a mutual feeling while both were facing divorce against their former spouses.
