Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani stole the show during the Billboard Awards as they sang the breakup song, Go Ahead and Break My Heart. Now, the country singer revealed what it’s like for them to sing a song about parting ways.
When he visited The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the country singer shared that he and his girlfriend had a good laugh backstage.
“We kind of did laugh a few times,” he said as shared by ABC News. “There’s moments where it’s like, wow we’re singing this song like we’re going to break up, and we’re not breaking up right now so it seems kind of weird.”

Go Ahead and Break My Heart is a collaboration of Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani. The Voice coach wrote the first part of the song just after his divorce to fellow country singer Miranda Lambert. He then sent his unfinished output to the Used to Love You singer, who also just ended her 14−year marriage to Gavin Rossdale.
“And so I sent it to her, and then she wrote the other half of the song. I was like, ‘Oh, she just one-upped me,” he said. Since becoming public about their relationship in November last year, the couple has been subjected to numerous rumours.
