“The Voice” coach Blake Shelton confessed that he was in a very dark place after the divorce from ex, Miranda Lambert. But it took someone like Gwen Stefani to come along in order to save him from himself.
In an interview with People, the 39-year-old country singer said that just a year ago, he could not find anything positive in his life after his marriage disintegrated.
“There was a point there where I thought I didn’t even want to exist anymore,” he said.
“I told people I wished I could go into a coma and wake up a year from now.”
Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton announced their divorce in July last year which rocked the industry in the sense that there was no hint of fracture in the marriage. In a statement, the couple said that they were separated furthest from their minds when they exchanged I do’s, says US Magazine.

“And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately,” the statement added.
A new article from Us Weekly, as shared by Hollywood Life, alleged that the reason for the divorce was that the ex-couple quarreled about having a baby.
About a week after their announcement, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale also announced their split, while committing to co-parent their kids. The divorce wasn’t as amicable compared to Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert because of the absence of a prenup.
Then the rumors of flirting between Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton on the set of “The Voice” started to surface. The talks continued to persist even when the two denied that they are dating. Nevertheless, the couple finally went public during Halloween last year.
Now, the country singer has credited Gwen Stefani for helping him pull through in the darkest period of his life following the divorce from Miranda Lambert.
“Here we are a year from now, and [look at] the way things have turned out and how crazy life is sometimes. You never know who’s in your life that can save your life, and I found that out.” Blake Shelton said.
