“The Blacklist” Season 4 is ready to premiere is approaching fast. NBC declared recently that the story will most likely dig deeper into the connexion of Liz (Megan Boone), Red (James Spader), Tom (Ryan Eggold) and villain Alexander Kirk (Ulrich Tomsen).
Although it was initially showed that Liz died after suffering from a childbirth complication, later it turned out that she only faked her death to get away from Red. In the Season 3 finale, Kirk was also revealed as the real father of Liz. Kirk’s plan with Liz remains unclear and the latter also does not have full confidence in him.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Liz alienated Red again for fear that he will harm her baby. She will be taking on her real identity, Masha Rostova, and shedding her guise as Elizabeth Keen.
“The Blacklist” executive producers Jon Bokenkamp and John Eisendrath teased that there are still questions about Kirk that will be known in season 4. Bokenkamp said that Liz should believe Kirk in saying that he is her father since there is no purpose for him to lie about it. Eisendrath added that Kirk’s true intentions with Liz are still blurred. We will soon find out whether he is there to help or destroy her. International Business Times reports.
Deadline learned that in the meantime, Tom and baby Agnes are alive, although they remain unaccounted for. Season 4 will explain why Kirk had to take all the trouble to reach out Liz, instead of simply getting to her. Red has further secrets about Liz and her family. His self-interest is also driven by his past, which Kirk is a part of.
Bokenkamp concluded that there are numerous stories to tell about Kirk and Red. In Season 4, Red will be very busy trying to find Liz. Their relationship will continue to be the central point of the series. However, there will be obvious changes in the characters after Liz faked her death.
“The Blacklist” Season 4 is scheduled to drop on Sept. 22, 2016, on NBC. It also airs on Channel Seven in Australia.
