BlackBerry Priv will soon be coming to Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile and the confirmation comes straight from the tech company.
As reported by TechRadar, BalckBerry CEO John Chen revealed at CES 2016 that the slider device will indeed be made available through the three carriers. Given that AT&T’s exclusive 60-day run with Priv is almost up, fans can probably expect the handset to arrive on Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile sooner rather than later. However, it wasn’t mentioned when exactly will it become available through these three major carriers.
As reported, John Legere from T-Mobile confirmed the arrival of Priv on January 26 in their stores. Before the official confirmation from the carrier, PhoneArena got its hands on a leaked image that displayed “Blackberry Venice Launch” for January 26. As many may recollect, Venice was code name used for the BlackBerry Priv handset.
As noted by the site, since it is available through AT&T at $699 for an unlocked variant, the prices shouldn’t differ much when Priv comes through Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile. And with the handset hitting T-Mobile stores this month, its arrival on Verizon and on Sprint won’t be far behind.
In the US, other than a locked version from AT&T, unlocked BlackBerry Priv for now is available online through the official BlackBerry website. Alternately, potential customers can even check out the offering on Walmart’s website.
This BlackBerry handset running on Android comes with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard which hides under the device’s dual-curve 5.4-inch touchscreen display. The Priv sports an 18 MP Schneider-Kreuznach optics primary camera and a 2MP front-facing snapper for taking those selfies. A neat Android option for those who have been missing a QWERTY keypad as well as the additional security that BlackBerry brings to the device.
Keep coming back to check for when BlackBerry Priv will be arriving through Sprint and Verizon.
