The actress said her marriage to the tennis player was “not that long.” The two got engaged within a month of dating. Months later, they got married on New Year’s Eve of 2013. They called it quits last year after 21 months of being married.
When she sat down with the Emmy-winning host, Cuoco blamed the usual suspect for most of divorces – irreconcilable differences.
It can be recalled that Cuoco had been lovesick with Sweeting during her November 2013 appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” LA Times noted. At the time, she had her wedding date tattooed on her back.
“The tattoo was a mistake. Had to cover it. [The numbers] were big so I had to cover it with wings. The significance is it was big enough to cover the numbers. It’s just what I picked out when I was there,” she told DeGeneres. Cuoco was referring to the tattooed date which is now covered with a massive moth design.
“I pictured a moth because a moth is drawn to the light all the time,” DeGeneres noted. “That’s exactly what I was thinking!” Cuoco exclaimed.
Cuoco also called her marriage a “very bizarre” time and filled with “weird ups and downs.”
However, amidst the challenges of the past year, Cuoco is optimistic that this year will be different, LA Times reported.
“I already feel like 2016 is gonna be a much better year than 2015. And, it’s been rough, but things are going good, and I’m much, much better now. I’m in a much better place than I was,” she said.
