Beyonce, Jay Z Joint Album Confirmed? To Slam Adele ’25’?

Hollywood couple Beyonce and Jay Z are rumoured to be having a joint album that could slam Adele’s record-breaking third full-length LP, “25.”

Billboard reports that they have been trying to collaborate on a joint material long before “Lemonade” was released. The duo’s “On The Run” tour caused the rumour to the point that a source allegedly said that Queen Bey and her husband “nearly finished” the said album together, but it never materialised.

“The label wouldn’t agree to the joint album,” says an insider from Columbia Records (a Sony Music subsidiary) said. However, another source from Sony claimed that they company is willing to negotiate for the project.

As for their solo careers, Beyonce successfully reached the headlines once again for releasing her 6th album “Lemonade” in HBO on April 23. The material has already gathered 653,000 “equivalent album units” in the first week and 485,000 in pure album sales as per Nielsen Music.

The more good news is that all of the 12 tracks in “Lemonade” is climbing into the Billboard Hot 100, which dethrones Taylor Swift with only a single difference. On the other hand, Jay-Z is said to be working on an album that could be the response to her wife’s.

According to Billboard, “Lemonade” is inspired by infidelity and troubles concerning marriage. As a result, the rapper would like to “tell his side of things,” as per Us Weekly source.

But whether the rumour about the content of the next album is true or not, Beyonce’s husband could be as successful as her as well. In 2013, his album “Magna Carta…Holy Grail”  sold 528,000 copies in its first week and claimed the top in Billboard Hot 100 as well.

Given these numbers, and should the joint album pushed through, they can beat Adele’s third album “25” that sold over 3.38 million copies in its first week in the U.S., as per another Billboard report. Until then, fans can only wait and see if Beyonce and Jay Z will be able to surpass the British diva.
