New gamers still contemplating on which gaming unit to purchase should take a close consideration of Sony’s PlayStation 4 (PS4).

Although other console competitors have their own strengths to offer, the PS4 should be in every gamer’s watch list because 2016 is projected as a year where big games and major titles will come exclusively to this console.

In a report by GameSpot, PlayStation Executive Shuhei Yoshida was quoted as being optimistic in seeing 2016 as a big year for the PS4. According to the report, Sony has high hopes for the PS4 in the new year and one major contributor to this is the influx of big games to the console.

GameSpot details that “Gran Turismo Sport”, “Horizon: Zero Dawn”, “Street Fighter V”, “The Last Guardian”, and “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” are among the exclusive titles scheduled to arrive in PS4 this coming 2016.

However, apart from the rush of exclusive titles, another reason cited by Sony executives in the significance of PS4 in 2016 is the release of another one of their products: the PlayStation VR.

Techno Buffalo details that Yoshida emphasized how the much-awaited launch of the PlayStation VR, together with the big titles (both exclusive and multi-platform), will make every gamer think that 2016 is a good year to own a PS4.

Still, Techno Buffalo does not dismiss the fact that 2016 is a major year for any platforms in general because of the big titles scheduled for launch in the upcoming year.

The Verge offers a list of the biggest games scheduled for launch in 2016 which includes “Adrift” (scheduled to launch in almost all platforms including the Oculus Rift), “Battleborn”, “Hitman”, and “Mass Effect: Andromeda”, among others. Aside from the big titles, another thing noticeable in the website’s list is that many games are releasing exclusively in select titles.

Nevertheless, whatever the platform may be, gamers should look forward to 2016 as a better year for gaming.
