The 1990s popular television series “Baywatch” wasn’t just a Joey and Chandler (Friends) favorite, this worldwide hit television show is creating headlines again for all the right reasons.
Paramount Pictures is gearing up to bring the long-standing “Baywatch” movie idea to fruitation. And it appears that Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron have already been zeroed in for their parts in the movie, as noted by Deadline. Now, the question comes down to who will be filling in the shoes of the female lead? According to report, a number of beauties have been shortlisted for the role and it includes the former Vampire Diaries star, Nina Dobrev. But according to Hollywood Reporter, “Quantico” lead Priyanka Chopra is currently rumored to be bagging the coveted title.
Chopra’s dates are still to be worked on, as the actress is also leading ABC’s “Quantico,” where she portrays an FBI agent who is suspected to have gone rogue. Incidentally, last week, she also won People’s Choice Award for Favorite Actress In A New TV series. Her role as Agent Parrish on the hit TV drama is definitely taking her places. And what’s interesting is, if Chopra will be the leading lady, she will also be the story’s villain. Way to go, girl!
Along with Dobrev, reportedly these beauties are also rumored to have been considered for the part: Ashley Benson, Alexandra Shipp, Shelley Hennig, Bianca Santos and Denyse Tontz.
This Paramount movie involves an elite group of lifeguards, one of them being Johnson, who team up with former Olympian (Zac Efron) in order to save their bay. Seth Gordon will be claiming the Director’s seat, while talks are also on with Alexandra Daddario and Kelly Rohrbach who will be using the iconic red swimsuits in the movie.
Beau Flynn and Ivan Reitman will be coming on board as producers along with Michael Berk, Douglas Schwartz and Gregory Bonann. Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions may also play some part in this area.
