‘Baywatch’ Movie: David Hasselhoff Joins Cast; His Role Teased


Guess who’s set to join team “Baywatch?” There ain’t no Bay without the Hoff and Hoff was born ready! The newest video clip from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson reveals that David Hasselhoff will indeed board the “Baywatch” train. Pam Anderson, we are waiting for your nod.

Why not? SlashFilm explains that “Baywatch,” the iconic TV series, gave Hasselhoff his career. However, it will be interesting to observe what role he plays in the film version of the series as his role is being played by Johnson himself. SlashFilm speculates that Hasselhoff will make an appearance either as a mentor to Johnson or as a chief of police.

According to IGN, Hasselhoff has been very supportive to team “Baywatch” ever since the movie was announced. “… From the day we announced we were turning [Baywatch] into a movie, “The Hoff” has been our greatest supporter,” wrote Johnson on his Facebook and Instagram. “… He’s been training his ass off and gotten in the best shape he’s been in years!” he added.

He also explained that “Baywatch” is going to be an “Avengers” meets “Anchorman” kind of a movie and wondered if the world is ready for both of them. Time and again, Johnson has posted snaps from the shooting on his social media accounts. It now remains to be seen how Johnson and the cast will unveil the movie version of the bikini drama.

According to The Wrap, the movie will feature Johnson, a veteran lifeguard. He is forced to team up with a young recruit played by Zac Efron to avert an environmental disaster along with and actresses Alexandra Daddario and Kelly Rohrbach. The film stars “Quantico” actress Priyanka Chopra in a villainous role. Actress Ilfenesh Hadera plays Johnson’s love interest in the movie.
