The news is out! Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has finally announced that “Quantico” actress Priyanka Chopra is now a part of the new “Baywatch” movie. In a video posted on Instagram on Tuesday, The Rock announced that Chopra has joined the movie.

ANN reported that Chopra was in talks with the makers for quite some time. There were many rumours floating around about Nina Dobrev being considered for the same role as Priyanka Chopra. It seems like things have worked out well for the Bollywood actress.

The Instagram video has Johnson and Chopra standing on a beach, where Johnson announced her as the biggest star out of India, reports USA Today. “The biggest star out of India, one of the biggest stars in the world,” continued Johnson. The fun video also gave an indication to the character Chopra will play in the movie. “Oh, you’ve no idea. I’m really mean,” Chopra said in the video, hinting that she will not play a sweetie pie.

This is not the first time that Johnson has taken to social media to make announcements about his pet project. Earlier on, he Instagrammed about Ilfenesh Hadera joining the “Baywatch” family. The American TV actress is slated to play his love interest in the movie.

The cast of “Baywatch” is complete after Chopra joined in. Other cast members are Ilfenesh Hadera, Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario and Kelly Rohrbach. The project will start filming anytime soon. Johnson had suggested the idea of a “Baywatch” movie back in 2013, reveals Daily Mail. However, it has taken time for the makers to get in the story and cast in place.

The movie is going to be a reboot of the iconic nineties TV show by the same name starring David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson.

The new “Baywatch” will be directed by Seth Gordon and will see Chopra in a ‘villain’ role. Johnson plays the role of the leader of a group of lifeguards while Hadera will play Johnson’s love interest. Zac Efron plays the role of a former Olympian and the characters will come together in a bid to save their beach from the evil Chopra.
